I try to break free of the smile-for-the-camera portrait mentality. On the wedding day itself these little moments happen all by themselves. But what about on an engagement shoot where there’s really nothing to do but pose for photos?
I try to encourage couples to forget about me for a few minutes and just interact with one another. Talk, kiss, whatever they feel at that moment, just ignore me. That’s when I’m in my element, moving from one side to another to get multiple viewpoints.
Notice how it looks like there are multiple photographers at work, but really it’s just me burning a lot of calories.
It was an unusually warm but otherwise overcast February day when I got together with Sean and Sarah.
